Our Commitment to Independence
TrueNorthVPN is editorially independent. VPN rankings, scores, and written reviews are determined solely by our testing team based on objective testing criteria. No VPN provider can purchase a higher ranking or more favourable review. Affiliate partnerships, if any, are established after editorial rankings are determined — not before.
Testing Methodology
All VPN ratings are based on five categories:
Speed (20%)
Average download/upload speeds across 50+ tests from Canadian servers over 30 days.
Privacy (25%)
No-logs policy credibility, audit status, jurisdiction, ownership transparency.
Streaming (20%)
Ability to reliably unblock Netflix US, Hulu, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, and Crave.
Value (20%)
Price-to-features ratio compared to market alternatives, with CAD pricing.
Overall (15%)
Holistic assessment including app UX, customer support, and platform support.
Review Updates
All VPN reviews and ranking articles are reviewed and updated at least quarterly. When a VPN provider makes significant changes (pricing, features, audit results, ownership), we update the relevant pages within 30 days of the change. Update dates are displayed prominently on all review pages.
Affiliate Disclosure
TrueNorthVPN participates in affiliate programs. When you purchase a VPN through a link on our site, we may receive a commission. This does not affect the price you pay or our editorial ratings. All affiliate relationships are clearly disclosed on every page where affiliate links appear.

If you believe information on TrueNorthVPN is inaccurate, please contact us at hello@truenorthvpn.ca. We review all correction requests within 5 business days and update content where errors are confirmed.
